Chocolate is a unifying ingredient, and for this very reason, one of our favourite foods: it is loved by adults and children alike, it is the main ingredient of sweets (and beyond); from the most everyday cuisine to the most elaborate desserts.
Chocolate making has become a true art, so much so that for some time now there is a more specialized profession among pastry chefs; that of master chocolatier! Our gold leaf is perfect for decorating chocolate creations, giving that touch of royalty and refinement that transforms every dessert into something precious. Yes, even that cake you make at home on a cold winter afternoon.
Chocolate and gold: what are the possible combinations? There are truly many, and in this article we’ll tell you some of them.

Chocolate plus Gold Chef edible gold: interpretations from around the world
Chocolate itself can be transformed into various sweets and desserts, whether they be pralines, ingots or cakes. Edible gold too has the advantage of coming in a wide variety of formats, from leaf to powder to gel: an incredibly practical format to use as if it were a pen, a rather valuable pen, of course! Not to mention the combinations with other ingredients, from fruit to spices. The result? Infinite combinations, always new, always surprising and, an essential condition in any chocolate creation, always delicious!
It’s all in the interpretation of the master chocolatier…or yours!

Among our most loyal customers, Bernachon opts for an experimental but highly refined chocolate processing. The company was founded in Lyon in 1953 and today is a French chocolate icon. Bernachon has chosen Gold Chef edible gold to enrich numerous creations such as Le Palet D ‘or, a praline with “fresh cream and dark chocolate enriched with gold leaf.” The company has been using our gold leaf for years, carefully breaking it down it in its laboratories, for a praline made sophisticated by a sprinkle of gold dust.
Our gold, however, also embellishes his chocolate bar, another popular format. This fun Instagram reel, features our encounter with the French company!

Flying to Spain, we met Choco Me which offers a livelier take on our edible gold, perfectly in keeping with the Spanish spirit.
The company offers truly original creations, combining the raw material, i.e. chocolate, with incredibly unexpected ingredients.
Our 23kt gold leaf? Placed in a very special milk bar with violet petals and coconut.
We at Gold Chef have also experimented with chocolate and edible gold, and among the winning combinations, we’ve fallen in love with these pralines embellished with our 23kt gold flakes: pralines are one of the most beloved sweets, a treat to give yourself every day, especially during the winter months, not to mention Christmas! For us, adding that touch of gold means making that moment even more special, an even more precious gift that everyone deserves to give themselves.
But our experiments don’t end there. Even an everyday hot chocolate can become a moment of great magic: we’ve interpreted itwith our 24kt food gold leaf and 23kt gold powder. The ‘wow’ effect is guaranteed!
We named it Sinfonia and now you’ll understand why: a layered chocolate mousse cake, cronflakes croquettes, Bavarian hazelnuts and caramel, and cocoa sponge cake. The most magical layer? Needless to say, the one made with our 23 kt gold Spray! Our chef then had fun creating a wonderful 24 kt gold leaf decoration: a precious detail worthy of the richness of this cake.

The combination of gold and chocolate is destined to be the protagonist of modern and future pastries.
